An influencer died after having a “medical emergency” at a holiday event hosted by BoxLunch.
Dominique Brown, 34, attended the event on Dec. 5, US Weekly reported. She was a Disney-inspired influencer who worked under the screen name HelloDomo and created BlackGirlDisney in 2018 to help bring women of color into the Disney influencer lifestyle.
The event was being held at Vibiana in Los Angeles. There were reports that Brown had asked servers if the food contained an ingredient that she was allergic to, but was told it did not.
The claims however have not been confirmed by BoxLunch, which released a statement that read, according to both People and Us Weekly, “We are devastated by the passing of Dominique Brown, a beloved member of the BoxLunch Collective, who suffered a medical emergency at an event hosted by BoxLunch on Thursday in Los Angeles. Our hearts go out to her family and friends, and we will do everything we can to support them and the members of the BoxLunch Collective and our team during this painful time.”
Brown’s official cause of death was not released, E! News reported.
An investigation is being conducted into what happened, SF Gate reported.
